Until 2014 data available according to COICOP classification, in turn starting from 2015 consumption expenditure are published according to European Individual Consumption According to Purpose (ECOICOP), consequently, the data are comparable only till the class level. ECOICOP replaces the COICOP classification used before. Consumption expenditure according to COICOP for the period until 2014 will still be available for data users in the database. When analizing changes in time series of consumption expenditure at detailed level from 2002 until 2014 (including) with the new time series starting from 2015, it should be taken into account that they are affected by changes in the methodology (classification). The most significant changes have taken place in the groups of „Food”, “Other services relating to the dwelling n.e.c.” and „Services for the maintenance and repair of the dwelling”. Thus, certain vegetable products, which were previously classified as „Vegetables”, and certain meat and fish products, which were previously classified as „Meat” and „Fish”, are now classified as „Other food products n.e.c.” in accordance with the changes in the ECOICOP international consumption expenditure classification recommended by Eurostat. Operational costs of privatised apartment buildings were classified as „Maintenance and repair of the dwelling” during the period from 2005 to 2014. Starting from 2015, they are classified as „Other services relating to the dwelling n.e.c”. The changes in the methodology (transition to the new ECOICOP classification) could have also partially affected changes in expenditures within other groups.
